Let me tell you a story...
The written word holds a power that transcends time and place. I was captivated, mesmerized, as soon as I started learning how to read. If I can offer you that deeply satisfying, enriching and expanding experience with my writing, I'm one happy girl.

I wrote my first story at the age of ten.
It changed everything for me.

My Story
Hi, I am Laura Martin and I love entertaining you, the reader, with stories that captivate you from the first page until the very last.
Ever since writing my first short story at the age of ten, I have been wanting to turn writing into a career. I mucked around for more than thirty years (while building a successful marketing career), but have finally taken the terrifying leap into the depths of creative writing. My heart belongs to fiction, it always has. I hope that energy bursts off my pages!

Book clubs: the pulse of the publishing industry
Book clubs are a popular way for us to meet new people while we enjoy reading and chatting about the books we have read. It is why I joined a book club when I moved to Houston from New Zealand. These days, book clubs have great tools at their fingertips too, which makes sharing and voting for books, making announcements and more so much easier. I hope to offer book clubs some fun bonus features that they may like to use - it's up to you!

Why not throw your name in the hat for truly neat competitions and prizes? Just for a bit of fun.
Exclusive material
Access to never-published work
Book clubs are very special. A chance to meet others who are equally crazy about good books. Join this group and you and your club will be given access to scenes or chapters that did not make it through to the final edit.
Early Bird
Be the first to know
New book or novella releases are exciting! Book Club members will be amongst the first to learn about pending launches and special editions.
Dedicated Book Club Guides
Take your book discussions to the next level
Wherever I can, I try and create a book club guide to accompany the book. Feel free to select those questions that you feel will best direct the discussions in a way you as moderator best see fit!

Read. Repeat. Advance.
Every writer benefits from having an 'Advanced Reader' base—also known as ARC readers. This is a group of avid readers who provide those important first reviews on launch day. They also point out any potential errors that may have snuck past the editing rounds.
Are you ready to advance? I'd love to add you to the street team!

Indie Publishing
Though I much rather talk about the creative writing process, this is kind of important. So hear me out.
Being self-published means being responsible for not only writing the books yourself, but also looking after all the promotion on your own. It would mean the world if you could show a little love by sharing my writing and telling others about Blame The Dogs—the start to the Dog Trilogy.
